Doug Bryce, Chair
   
Doug is a Partner with SiskindsLLP. He graduated from McGill University with a B.A. Honours in 1985 and an LLB. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1988. He was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1990. Doug has represented Plaintiffs and Defendants in personal injury, employment and insurance matters and provides advice in all aspects of labour and employment law. He has spoken at numerous conferences and seminars on issues ranging from personal injury/insurance to employment and board governance. He is a Past President of the Oxford Law Association and Alzheimer's Society of Oxford, and sits on the Boards of Directors of the Brain Injury Association of London & Region, the Alzheimer Society of Oxford and the McCormick Home Foundation. He is a member of the Advocates Society, Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and Middlesex Law Association. Doug serves on all the committees of the McCormick Home Foundation Board and is currently the Chair 2011-2013.

Sharon Taylor, Vice-Chair
 

Sharon has volunteered on the Foundation board since 2007. She is currently the Vice Chair of the Foundation and is Past Chair of the Finance Committee. Sharon is a Certified Management Accountant, and has worked at the LHSC for the past 22 years, in the position of Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis. Sharon also volunteers on the VON Canada Ontario Branch – Middlesex-Elgin.


Susan Davies, Past Chair
   

Susan graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor degree in Psychology before starting a career with a national Chartered Accounting firm.  After working as a Staff Training Co-ordinator she retired when the first of her three children was born.  Her community interests have included co-chairing fundraisers for the Diabetes Association and serving on the board of the Ilderton Curling Club as well as volunteering at various sport events.  Susan joined the McCormick Home Foundation Board in 2002, has served on a number of committees and became Chair of the Board from 2009 – 2011. The Foundation Board means so much to Susan personally and she is very happy to be giving back to the community. Susan is currently serving a year as Past Chair.

Tom Getliffe, Secretary-Treasurer
   

Tom is a general practice partner with Ford Keast LLP. He joined the firm in November 1994. He was admitted to the partnership in 1998. He is directly involved with large audit and accounting clients, and the firm's professional education which reflect his interest in those areas. Tom graduated from The University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) in 1987 and a diploma in Accounting from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1989. Tom received his Chartered Accountant Designation in 1992. Tom joined the McCormick Home Foundation Board in 2009. Tom is currently serving as Secretary-Treasurer and Chair of the Foundation’s Finance Committee. He also volunteers with the North London Sports Association as Treasurer.


Mark Berry, CFP
   
A graduate of the University of Western Ontario, Mark Berry is a Vice-President, Wealth Advisor, The Berry-Smyrnios Group, BMO Nesbitt Burns. Married with three active young boys, Mark is a long-time resident of the Oakridge area in London.

Mark has been involved with the Children’s Health Foundation where he served on the committee for the Enchanted Evening in support of Myotonic Dystrophy.  He is extensively involved with youth sport and is a Board Member for the Oakridge Aeros Hockey Association and the Community Hockey League in London.  He coaches both hockey and competitive baseball.  Mark joined the Board at the McCormick Home Foundation in 2009 where he sits on the Finance committee.

Karen Button
 

Karen was appointed to the Board of Directors of the McCormick Home Foundation in September 2009. She currently serves as Chair of the Strategic Planning and Governance Committee. Karen draws on administrative and teaching experiences in the educational sector. Recently retired as Supervisor of Staff Development for the Thames Valley District School Board, Karen’s responsibilities included Leadership Development, Succession Planning, New Teacher Induction and Facilitation Training. A native of Goderich, Karen is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and St. Francis Xavier University with a Masters of Education, a Diploma in Adult Education, Principal’s Qualifications and Supervisory Officer’s Certificate among her academic credentials. Karen also serves on the Board of Directors for the London Training Centre, the Lambeth United Church Council and the Board of Directors for MCC # 414. She is an active volunteer with Hospice of London and The London Military Family Resource Centre.

Sandra Kleinstiver
   

Sandra is currently Chair of the Board of the Thames Valley Children's Centre where she has served as a member of the Community Relations and Operational Priority committees. She is a member of the McCormick Home Foundation Board, participates on the Community Relations and Fund Development Committee and was Chair of The Ritz 2008. Sandra has also served as a Director on the Board of the London Chamber of Commerce. Community involvement includes volunteering for the 2001 Canada Summer Games, serving as Vice-Chair of Business for the 2006 Scott Tournament of Hearts, as well as Sponsorship and Media Chair for the Southwestern Ontario Women's Charity Cashspiel.

 


Katie MacDonald
   

Katie moved to London in 2000 to attend the University of Western Ontario. She graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Philosophy. Currently Katie works at BMO Bank of Montreal (downtown London main branch) as an Investment Lending Specialist. Katie started with the McCormick Home Foundation’s The Ritz Committee in 2009, and 2010 was her first year on the McCormick Home Foundation Board.  Katie is currently the Chair of the Ritz Committee for 2012. Some of her additional community involvements include volunteering at Skate Canada in 2004 and 2010 at the John Labatt Centre, as well as annual participation since 2004 in BMO’s Boo-A-Thon, which raises money to provide counseling services for Kids Help Phone.

Paula Sampson  
   

Paula Sampson is a native Londoner, and has lived here all her life.  Educated at Fanshawe College, she began her career in administration with General Motors Diesel Division in London.  Paula has over 20 years of Human Resource management experience with General Motors and as an Industrial Relations Manager with Electro Motive Canada.  After a short retirement a couple of years ago, Paula returned to a new career with Judith Hull & Associates, a boutique law firm here in London that specializes in personal injury law.  Paula supports Judith as her Executive Assistant, and as the Manager of Human Resources.  In her spare time, Paula enjoys golf in the summer and travelling to golf resorts in the winter. As Co-Chair of the 2011 Ritz, Paula is extremely proud of the success of the 25th anniversary of the signature fundraiser of The Foundation. 


Elizabeth Singh  
   

Elizabeth Singh worked at McCormick Home for 32 years retiring as Director of Nursing Care.  During this time she was involved in planning and participating in many educational opportunities related to Care of the Elderly. As a Volunteer with the McCormick Home Foundation, Elizabeth is currently the Chair of the Community Relations and Fund Development Committee and has served as Ritz Co-Chair 2010 and Ritz 2011. She is very proud of the success of the 25th anniversary of the Ritz and continues as an active Ritz Committee member for 2012. She is also involved with Outreach and Refugee Committees in the community and is kept busy with her 9 grandchildren.

Mary Wellman
 

Mary Wellman graduated from Osler School of Nursing in Toronto as a Registered Nurse before starting her career as an Emergency nurse at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario.  She went on to work at Ford Motor Company as a nurse, then worked in labour relations and finally in Medical Sales.  From there Mary became the Director of Operations at Med Care in Toronto.  In 1995 Mary started her business, Medical Priorities, a Home Health Care Agency.  In 2010 Mary joined the Board of Directors at the McCormick Home Foundation and currently sits on the Community Relations and Fund Development Committee and the Ritz Committee 2012.
